On Tuesday President Muhammadu Buhari returned to Abuja after attending a summit of the Head of State and Government of the 15th session of the Conference Of the Parties (COP15) of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD).
The President departed the country on Sunday, May 8, to participate in COP-15, a United Nations organised conference on the future of the land, regarding desertification, drought, degradation, rights, restoration, and implications for national and world economies.
President Buhari delivered updates on Nigeria’s environmental efforts to the Summit, with the theme ‘Land. Life. Legacy: From scarcity to prosperity.
President Buhari, who is also the President of the Great Green Wall in Africa, was accompanied on the trip by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama; Minister of Environment, Mohammed Abdullahi; Minister of Agriculture, Doctor Mahmoud Mohammed and Minister of Water Resources, Engineer Suleiman
